1968-75 Corvette SMOG TUBE CHEVY CHECK VALVES 327 350 air injection reaction
1966-74 & 1977-80 PAIR Corvette Smog Check Valves
This is a set PAIR of restored check valves. For a 1966-74 & 1977-80 ALL Corvette.
Check valves are gold zinc plated as original but cleaned and polished before plating to look like new.
NOTE: RECENTLY : wow : a customer had points taken off for their smog tubes color not being black at a Judging meet : here is our response.
i am going to re-write the judging manual for them.
when they are manufactured and plated new: THE SMOG TUBES are black ZINC.
Here is what happens: the uv MOSTLY UV + SOME HEAT IS A FACTOR LATER CAUSES THEM
TO TURN BROWN AND when installed causes they will turn
BROWN THEN BROWNISH GREEN IN TIME TO A OLIVE GREEN
BUT SINCE I HAVE THEM IN the OFFICE AND HAVE WATCHED THIS PROCESS
FOR YEARS as they get shuffled around from batch to batch.
I guess I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS IT. ------------
